Big Boobs

It’s only a boy (Mutant boy)

mutant boy

A 3d image with tons of effects to get the feeling of an old picture (very influenciated by the dark ages of Goya). Made for a contest called ‘Mutants’ I got the 3th price. I used a basic mesh made in Max, then transposed and detailed in ZB3.0. Few days from the beginning to the end for the full image.

Guardian of Ruins (ISO-Image)

iso guardian

I was betatesting a very interesting (and powerful) plugin for Vray called VrayISO, the name of the wizard (the creator of the sotf) is Dieter Morgenroth. Is very interesting to see how it’s possible to create very very complex surfaces with only a few clicks, just playing with the procedurals. All the ruins are VrayIsos, the same for the climbing plants and some areas of the evil sprite (upper left). The character (pan) creation is the same as always in my workflow, base and Uv’s in Max, detailing in Zbrush and back to Max. Final render of course with Vray (some layers as specularity render, occlusion, etc…) and compositing in PS. Many thanks to Rick Baker for the wise suggestions to make this image more interesting, thanks master!!

Loosing the head (heyyyyy dude)

loosing the head

Well….. one of my first images (discovering the cartoon style), it´s very very funny to create cartoon characters because you need to give tons of expressions with only few polygons. The main character (the headless) is fully rigged, except the head, you can see the head inside the newspaper box (upper left corner). The creation of the main character is so simple, poly modeling in max 9, then unwrapped in max too and textured with the help of photoshop, some elements (as the belt) are scans of real objects. The more complex proceess (without any doubt) is the ’skin’ all the weights of the vertex, very hard work. The little robot is practically all primitives (spheres, tubes, cilinders, etc..) and then all the pieces are ‘rigged’ changing all the pivots and applying IK in some areas (as the legs). The final render is Vray, with final touches of PS.

Psiko-killer (No-eyes)

psikokiller

This is an image i did one year ago (more or less). Made for teaching how is possible to create a very complex bust entirely in zbrush 2.0 using only a box and tons of edge loops, then with the incredible plugin Zapplink i did all the textures. The render is zbrush too, using the great materials of my friend Sokar, a little postpro with Photoshop for the final result. It is very funny the digital sculpture in zbrush (including the base mesh creation), because you can forget some technical aspects of the image and ……. enjoy with it!!

Hello highend3d’ers

Hi, all. I am Victor Marin aka ‘IlusionDigital’ character designer and teacher of Zbrush and 3ds Max. I am from Spain (the most beautiful place of Europe xD). Cheers.
